Yes. Your Xero connection tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and SortBooks asks Xero only for the access it needs. Nothing is written back to Xero until you approve it, every change is recorded in an activity log, and you can export your data or delete your account at any time.
Never. We connect to your bank data exclusively through Xero's official APIs using OAuth 2.0. We never see, store, or have access to your banking login credentials.
Only you and anyone you explicitly invite (such as your accountant). SortBooks staff cannot access your financial data without your explicit written permission. All access is logged and auditable.
SortBooks writes the right GST code back to Xero with every change you approve. On Growth and above you also get a quarterly GST estimate to check before you lodge. It's an estimate from your bank transactions, not a lodgement figure, so your accountant or BAS agent should still review your BAS in Xero.
Your VAT returns are still filed through Xero's own MTD submission. SortBooks helps by keeping the VAT codes right on the transactions you approve, and Growth and above get a quarterly VAT estimate to check before you submit.
Yes. SortBooks works with the tax rates already set up in your Xero organisation and suggests the right one for each transaction, which you approve.
